Core Range and Specials We believe in natural whisky, free from intervention, standardisation or conformity. All Bruichladdich, unique amongst distilleries, is therefore Islay bottled, caramel free, Non Chillfiltered, bottle at 46% - or at its natural strength. Each Bruichladdich bottling is created by Jim McEwan personally from casks selected by tasting - not computer. Each is a small batch bottling. The colours are 100% natural for we extol the virtue of purity rather than the masquerade of colour intervention, thus they are relatively pale compared to other malts, having by choice been selected mainly from American Oak barrels and refills. The acquamarine labels reflect the maritime influences on Bruichladdich - the only Islay malt 100% matured on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the colour of the sea as it approaches the white sandy beaches of Islay. Over the years of aging, this Atlantic influence permeates the casks and influences the flavour. Packed in silver tins.
